Session 2: Large Language Models explains how LLMs predict text through statistical patterns learned from training data, why they can produce confident answers without reliable grounding (hallucinations) and what information remains inaccessible to models trained primarily on the open web. AI Literacy: A Four-Part Workshop Series This workshop series provides students with foundational knowledge for understanding and responsibly using AI in academic contexts. As information professionals with expertise in conducting research, evaluating sources and understanding information systems, librarians are uniquely positioned to guide students through the challenges AI poses to information literacy.
